Brunch at Craftbar
In the heart of the Flatiron district lies Tom Colicchio’s Craftbar, an offshoot of his world-renowned Craft restaurant. We stopped in for brunch, and Top Chef quality it certainly was. We started with an order of brioche donut holes, which were served warm with rhubarb compote and bittersweet chocolate. Steve ordered simple, choosing 2 farm eggs over medium, which were served with chorizo, fingerling potatoes, and braised cippolini onions. I opted for shrimp and grits, which was top-notch. The grits were creamy, the shrimp were tender, and the plentiful andouille sausage and perfectly poached egg sealed the deal. All in all, a delicious and well-executed meal.
